If you’re packing your bags to travel to Malaysia for the Global Peace Convention there are a couple things you might want to add to your list of things to do.

Explore the diversity of the capitol. The history of Kuala Lumpur is rich and colorful.  The city has an eclectic mix of food, culture and history. From the food stands to the historic districts, there is a plethora of things to do to take in the diversity.

  1. Take a trip to a market place.  Engage with the local culture. Shop, eat, discover. .  Petaling Market, Chinatown, Brickfield and Little India are perfect places to start.  
  2. Visit the many historically, architecturally and spiritually beautiful places of worship.  On a walkabout through Brickfield you can see temples, mosques and churches all embedded in one neighborhood.  Projek Dialog organizes interfaith walking tours of the city to promote interreligious understanding.
  3. Relax and enjoy the harmonious blend of nature and modernization in Kuala Lumpur. Attractions and parks that highlight the wildlife of Malaysia, like the Batu Caves or the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park are nestled in the city. Take a trip up the renown Petronas Towers that grace the city skyline.
  4. Take in the art and culture of Kuala Lumpur. Visit the museums and learn about the history of the country.  There is also the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra if there are performances during your stay.
