In January, Global Peace Foundation (GPF) in the Philippines facilitated the “Character Building for the Future” seminar for the students of Canaan East National High School. The three-day seminar was run by Mary Grace Rago (Volunteer in Education and Youth programs), and Joy Remigio (Community Development Program Director) for 7 teachers and 96 students.

The students were divided into eleven teams made up of 11th and 12th graders. Through working in teams, the students bonded and collaborated with each other to complete creative and engaging activities based on the topics: Our Common Humanity, Cultivating A Growth Mindset, Building Character, and Making A Difference. The students grew to better understand themselves, motivated to develop their talents, and thought of ways to make a difference in their homes and communities to contribute to “One Family under God.”
