The 2016 Seoul U-Festival displayed support for Korea reunification. Organized by Global Peace Youth Korea, the festival utilized social media to engage young people from Korea and abroad to voice encouragement for a united Korea. Technology and new media has been a powerful tool to advance freedom of information in North Korea to move towards breaking the barrier between North and South. The festival also featured a talk show with a North Korean defector, providing insights into the importance of preparing for a reunited Korea.

Support for Korean reunification is quickly acquiring recognition as an imperative piece for regional peace and global security. The One Korea global campaign is gaining global traction through the engagement of civil society with NGO coalitions, social media, K-Pop music industry, and youth entrepreneurs.
