Institute for Peace Affairs

Professor Jin Shin is the President of the Institute for Peace Affairs, Chairman of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy and Director of the National Strategy Institute, Chungnam National University, Daejon, Korea, and Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and Johns Hopkins Universities. 

Dr. Shin has spent over 30 years as a researcher and educator on issues relating to the peaceful reunification of North and South Korea. He is the recipient of numerous academic awards, including the Fulbright Scholarship and Minister of Unification Research Award, and has been a visiting scholar at Columbia and Johns Hopkins Universities in the United States.

His research, books, and other writings have concentrated on North Korean International relations and issues relating to the reunification of North and South Korea. The Korean Ministry of Unification asked the Institute for Peace Affairs, its most important partner regarding reunification preparation, to organize a reunification education training program for teachers throughout Korea. Also, The Korean Research Foundation asked Dr. Shin’s National Strategy Institute, CNU, emerging as the most important institute regarding trust building among nations and reunification preparation, to initiate an international trust building organization.
