“Moral and Innovative Leadership: Vision, Service and Entrepreneurship” The IYLA‐Thailand 2014 (the 5th IYLA), in conjunction with the Asia‐Pacific Forum on Youth Volunteerism to Promote Participation, Development and Peace co‐convened by UNESCAP, the UNESCO, the Global Peace Foundation, and the Global  Young  Leaders  Academy,  will  provide  young leaders from the Asia‐Pacific Region as well as around the world  for  interactive  programs  at  the  UN  Bangkok Conference  Center,  the Utokapat  Foundation  under  the royal patronage of H.M. the King of Thailand, and many other venues in Bangkok. The program will enhance and pool  knowledge  on  the  contributions  and  strategies  of national volunteering and youth service across Asia‐Pacific toward  achievement  of  the  United  Nations  MDGs  and Post‐2.015 Sustainable Development Goals.   • Asia‐Pacific Forum on Youth Volunteerism to Promote Participation,Development and Peace at UN Conference Center in Bangkok

The Asia‐Pacific Forum on Volunteerism To Promote Participation, Development and Peace is co‐convened by UNESCAP, UNESCO, GPF and Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA). The forum will be held on 28 October 2014 in Bangkok at the United Nations Conference Centre.

The aim of the Conference is to foster on‐going youth volunteering partnership action in specific issue areas such as health, environmental service, disaster response, peace‐building, and entrepreneurship and education. The forum will focus on launching an ongoing Asia‐Pacific Peace Service Alliance network and a youth online consultation process in a simple yet powerful campaign that will mobilize and inspire the community of hundreds of millions of youth to take decisive action.

Such action and public‐private partnerships will harness the great potential of youth to promote sustainable development with youth vision and leadership. Particular attention will be given to improving coordination among sectors, building consensus and partnership, and mobilizing resources.

  • Special Learning programs at theUtokapat Foundation, A Water Development Foundation under Royal Patronage of His Majesty King of Thailand.

Recognized as the father of water resource management in Thailand, His Majesty the King is aware of the importance of water. His initiatives in managing water resources have eased the water shortage problem and others concerning pollution, drought, and flooding. He has always advocated a lifestyle in harmony with nature and takes a holistic approach to water resource management, with measures to handle water from its origin as a droplet to the last drop released back into nature. In the words of His Majesty, “Water is life.” This reflects his deep understanding and appreciation of the substance in terms of the people’s livelihood and the country’s survival.

The organizing committee has put together a wonderful selection of cultural exchange programs that provide exceptional opportunities to experience Bangkok ‐ ‘The City of Angel’ known for its impressive temples, colorful markets, and a riverside full of surprises.
