Hon. Francis Xavier Ole Kaparo is chairman of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission in Kenya and the former Speaker of the National Assembly. He is a lawyer by profession and previously served the Government of Kenya as a Minister and Assistant Minister in various ministries and member of Parliament for Laikipia East and the Chairman of the National Environmental and Management Authority. He has been instrumental in reconciliation and peacebuilding efforts in Kenya since the fatal post-election violence of 2007/2008. He has undertaken several mediation and reconciliation tasks which included a Presidential appointment to head the Mandera – Marsabit peace process.
