On September 18, 2015 Christian leaders joined Muslim Friday prayers at the Jamia Mosque in Nairobi to promote harmony and tolerance among the religions in Kenya.

Christian and Muslim leaders from the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya, a union of representatives from major faith communities in Kenya, agreed to “visit each other’s places of worship to show solidarity in fighting intolerance among members of their faiths.”

In attendance was Daniel Juma Omondi, Executive Director of Global Peace Foundation Kenya, who reflected, “Today we are sending a strong message that we are one humanity under one God. We are saying no to religious intolerance.”
