Malaysia Mail reports Najib vows to continue spreading virtues of moderation

KUALA LUMPUR, December 9 – The Malay Mail reported Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s continued commitment to “spreading the virtues of moderation, in the hope of uniting all under a single purpose.”

The article quoted the Prime Minister’s Facebook post after he received the 2013 Global Peace Award for Promoting the Culture of Peace. He wrote, “The purpose is to achieve peace not just during our time, but for all times.”

He wrote that it was an honor to receive such award. “Although the path to true peace is long and arduous, I am confident that we have made great strides towards promoting understanding and goodwill among our fellow men. I am a firm believer that peace can only be achieved if we are willing to substitute dialogue, in place of conflict.”

The Malay Mail wrote that the the GPF council chose the Malaysian prime minister for his efforts in building cross-cultural relationships in resolving the Bangsamoro conflict between the Philippine Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
