Mongolia, which maintains good relations with both Koreas, was an appropriate platform to highlight the country’s role in promoting inter-Korean relations and contributing to regional peace and stability. A Mongolian delegate attending the forum expressed that the country has been striving to be an active intermediary in Northeast Asian issues.

An excerpt from Mongolian News Agency Montsame coverage on the forum points out the steps Mongolia intends to take in supporting Northeast Asian peace and security:

“In order to demonstrate its neutrality and nuclear weapon free status through diplomatic activity and to promote greater trust and cooperation in the region, Mongolia is implementing policy and actions such as the Ulaanbaatar process’ and ‘Ulaanbaatar dialogue’ and actively cooperating with other states.”
