Global Service Panel—Building Regional Youth Service Partnerships for Peace and Development

November 21, 2014

| Part I | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 |  Part 5 | Part 6  | Part 7

This session will examine the role of youth, civil society, and philanthropy, and bodies such as the UN and Inter-American Development Bank in promoting volunteerism and a culture of service. The Paraguayan Mission at the United Nations was a chief sponsor of GPF’s International Young Leaders Assembly (IYLA) this year. Meetings of the Africa Peace Service Corps and Asia-Pacific Peace Service Alliance with the IYLA in Bangkok at UN ESCAP in October are galvanizing youth action in shaping and implementing the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals with an overall “global peace service corps” vision. This session will highlight volunteering models and best practices with practitioners and leaders from Latin America, Asia and Africa to promote regional youth service partnerships addressing these goals.
