Tanzania Celebrates International Day of Peace 2022 through Service

Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Tanzania built momentum towards International Day of Peace 2022 with a series of events to promote service and awareness of this year’s theme, “End Racism. Build Peace.”

Stakeholders joined others from GPF Tanzania to hike Mount Kilimanjaro, planting a “flag of peace” at the summit on September 15.

In the days leading up to International Day of Peace on September 21, GPF Tanzania hosted tree planting projects and a large cleanup event at Cocobeach where students, government officials, and environmental stakeholders banded together to brighten their community.

GPF Tanzania visited Moshi Secondary School in the latest stop that is part of a “peace tour” to bring peacebuilding education to schools across Tanzania building up to International Day of Peace 2022.

On September 21, the spirit of service shone in Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro region where volunteers planted trees. The coordinated effort under the slogan “Serve Together, Grow Together. Make a Difference Together.”
