Throughout August, the youth division of Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Nepal collaborated with partners Thrive Nepal and Service for Peace to organize fundraising drives to be able to distribute hundreds of hygienic supplies, medicine, rice and water to people in Terai suffering from the aftermath of the worst monsoon season in years to hit South Asia.

The flooding has affected millions of people with a death toll rising into the thousands throughout India, Bangladesh and Nepal so far. Thousands of villages are cut off from humanitarian aid; leaving many people in desperate need of food, clean water and medical care.

Global Peace Young Leaders (GPYL) jumped into action, creating signs and campaigning to the general public for donations. Volunteer musicians contributed to the campaign, performing on the street to bring attention to the cause. Nicknamed Project Biwass, volunteers embraced the motto, “Together we can, together we will.”
