Sanitation Projects Help Villagers in Malaysia

Over 80% of Orang Asli villages that Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Malaysia has worked with have no access to sanitation facilities. Families bathe and wash their clothes in polluted ponds and rivers, which exposes them to waterborne diseases. Women and girls are especially at risk for these diseases since they are the ones who move the water from the ponds and rivers.

To bring sanitation facilities to the Orang Asli communities, GPF Malaysia started the #TheWashroomProject to raise funds to create four toilet stalls and two shower rooms in Kampung Teraling and Kampung Binjai in Pahang. For more information, click here.
