Free and Unified Korea: Northeast Asia Regional Collaboration

Northeast Asia Regional Collaboration on De-Nuclearization and Economic Integration: Full Report

The challenges of denuclearization and regional economic cooperation in Northeast Asia have emerged as pressing issues in the context of North-South Korea rapprochement and peace in the past several years together with the U.S. and other actors in the region.

During Korea's August 15, 2020 National Liberation Day celebration in Seoul and virtually throughout the world, Action for Korea United (AKU), Global Peace Foundation (GPF) and partners kicked off a forum series examining the quest of the Korean people for a free and unified peninsula ever since the 1919 independence movement.   This September roundtable, building on a prior Ulaanbaatar International Roundtable on related topics with Blue Banner, GPF, AKU and many partners, will examine how Mongolia's example and the Northeast Asia Nuclear Weapons Free Zone proposal could contribute to the process of advancing a nuclear-free Peninsula jointly with robust regional economic integration supporting Korean unification.
