More than 200 participants attended the “Competiveness and Values for Young Entrepreneurs” Conference in Paraguay.

Over 200 students, teachers, government officials, community leaders and professionals gathered at the “Competiveness and Values for Young Entrepreneurs” Conference at the National Congress of Paraguay on May 20, 2015. The event was organized by the Global Peace Foundation’s Women Division with the support of the President of Congress, the Legislative Office of Senator Lilian Samaniego, the Directorate of Culture of the Chamber of Deputies and the Organization of Ibero-American States.

Several prominent speakers specializing in education and policy addressed the conference, and Mrs. Maria Ester Jimenez, President of the Global Peace Foundation Paraguay’s Women Division, provided welcoming remarks emphasizing the importance of values in a young entrepreneurs’ success.

Dr. Luis María Scasso, General Director of Cooperation and Permanent Education of the Organization of Ibero-American States in Paraguay (OIE), with an extensive background in education and policy, explained some of the essential elements needed to be successful—developing skills in entrepreneurship, the ability to interact in heterogeneous groups, a sense of initiative and spirit in a company, among other points.

The forum also focused on the Global Peace Foundation’s ongoing social and cultural programs that contribute to improving the living conditions of people in Paraguay. The Global Peace Foundation sponsors educational forums on personal, professional, family and spiritual development. The meetings aim to support Paraguayans by encouraging self-awareness and life purpose, and sharing skills, knowledge and experiences of good practices that uphold universal principles and values.

Dr. Scasso noted that entrepreneurial values should not only be taught to older students but should start in primary education. He ended the forum with the delivery of a certificate of recognition to the speakers and participants. After this exhibition participants had the opportunity to interact with the speakers giving reflections and questions.

Mr. Enrique Castro, Director of Culture of the Honorable Chamber of Deputies served as the Master of Ceremonies.
