Volunteer a back to school drive in Philippines.

Global Peace Foundation and Global Peace Youth Corps Philippines partnered with the University of Makati, San Sebatian College-Recoletos and the Technological University of the Philippines in the “Back to School Project” collection drive. “Back to School” believes that all children should be presented with the opportunity to pursue an education. Through supply and monetary donations, the project is able to ease the burden placed on families, helping more children receive an education.

On Saturday April 5th Global Peace Youth Corps and university student volunteers from the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City, Polytechnic University of Philippines, The Philippine School of Business Administration worked together to package the supplies gathered during the school supply drive. The supplies will be sent to communities that were affected by Typhoon Haiyan including Visayas. With Global Youth Service Days (April 11-13) on their minds, volunteers were moved by the power of a simple act of compassion and service.

One volunteer’s reflection:
“Thank You GPYC/GPF an inspiring experience. We hope that our simple efforts will turn and bring hope and happiness to the Young Students of Tacloban. Its our pleasure to serve you. We are looking forward for an interactive relationship with the organization! May the mission and vision of the team be achieved and prosper. We are One Family under God 🙂 Together, lets touch the intangible, see the invisible, and achieve the impossible.”
