Mr. Robert Joseph is a Hereditary Chief of the Gwa wa enuk First Nation, chairman of the Native American Leadership Alliance for Peace and Reconciliation, and Special Advisor to Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He is a former Executive Director for the Indian Residential School Survivors Society and has spent most of his working life as an advocate for aboriginal people. Chief Joseph was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Law Degree from the University of British Columbia for his distinguished achievements.
