The Basic English Language Instruction Program is guided by the following values:
1. Cultivating confidence and trust: Allowing the volunteers to be the class’s instructor and decision maker.
2. Promoting a culture of service in the community: Giving volunteers an experience of fulfillment through teaching primary school students. The young volunteers are also given validation and acknowledgement by program manager visits at their primary schools every week.
3. Maintaining sustainable progress of the project: Volunteers are keen to share their experience working with the Global Peace Foundation Cambodia with their friends through both social media and casual gatherings, which has resulted in other interested youth applying for the teaching program.
