This Global Peace Convention 2021 Main Plenary segment explores the convention theme of "Moral and Innovative Leadership" and its relevance in transforming education, youth as changemakers, and women peacebuilders. The moral orientation of leadership focuses on promoting a "greater good" that can benefit the individual and the larger society, nation, and eventually the world. The corresponding side of innovative leadership harnesses humankind's natural creative need to advance and develop the human condition and explore fresh and creative ideas to solve the many problems of our time. It examines the reinforcing ecosystem approach of the home, school, and community in advancing a consistent and reinforcing perspective that exemplifies moral and innovative leadership.
Realizing Future-Ready Education in the Americas, the only Spanish session, brought together leaders from Latin America to discuss the competencies and values that students need to prepare for future success.
The Transforming Education for the Future in the Americas session emphasized the importance of values and intercultural competence and student and teacher agency in education. Transforming education requires a holistic approach instead of strictly a linear, academic approach.
The Realizing Future-Ready Education in Asia session focused on technology and building competencies through education. The panelists discussed the importance of teaching values and building students’ agency during the learning process within these areas.
